SRV 5893 sits at the end of the train, while waiting to return to Te Rapa

Finally after sunset, and the passage of trains MR8 and MP9, SRV 5893 leads the train back to the yard at Te Rapa. This is the only portion of the journey where the SRV is used in the lead, due to union concerns about crashworthiness at level crossings

With a longer 5-car set in tow, DFB 7295 leads train 104 through Pukekohe, the first Saturday Te Huia service. Initially, the service runs on selected Saturdays only due to track work in the Auckland area
