DC 4790 leads DA 1429 and the GVR carriages into Ohakune. DC 4790 was added to the train to simplify crewing arrangements, allowing the train to run on the new schedule at short notice. However DC 4790 broke down before departure, causing the train to depart Paelalariki 2 hours late
