Trains the morning after Daylight Saving finished for the summer. Train 248 with DL 9377 through Drury, train MP5S with DL 9141 crossing Sutton Road and ADL 803 on a Pukekohe shuttle near Papakura. Train 248 gained an extra hour of running time due to the end of Daylight Saving, but passed through Drury just 30 minutes early
DC 4254 and DC 4571 were hastily allocated to the Northern Explorer (nicknamed "Dora" after a children's TV show character) after the failure of DFB 7158 two days prior, however the locomotives were required to return to Auckland and so ran train 200 the following day as well. Here, we see that train 200 at Buckland and Takanini, as well as the empty service L200 at Remuera
DXB 5114 leads train 200, the northbound Northern Explorer, into Britomart Transport Centre for the last time. The Northern Explorer will stop at Strand station from 21 December 2015. DXB 5114 and train 200 became the final locomotive and final diesel-powered train to enter Britomart, with the station now exclusively serving the AM class EMUs. "Dora" was moved to the Strand station as Auckland Transport needed the capacity during CRL works and could not afford the train to take a platform for 40 minutes
Glenbrook Vintage Railway opened their 2015/2016 season with the celebration of the 100th birthday of Ww 644, operating all throughout the long weekend and with a market planned on Monday. A lucky child placed a coal cake in the firebox of Ww 644 before it departed on the next trip. At the end of the day, the train moved some wagons further up the mainline connection to make room for more wagons to arrive from DBM
