Trains the morning after Daylight Saving finished for the summer. Train 248 with DL 9377 through Drury, train MP5S with DL 9141 crossing Sutton Road and ADL 803 on a Pukekohe shuttle near Papakura. Train 248 gained an extra hour of running time due to the end of Daylight Saving, but passed through Drury just 30 minutes early

DL 9210 leads a big train 243 into Paerata, stopping for clearance before entering a work site, with DXB 5016 along for the ride. The train received verbal authority to pass the signal at Stop, and as such is not classified as a SPAD

DL 9291 on train MP15 and DL 9423, DXB 5108 and DFB 7010 on train 243 and ADL 808 on a shuttle service to Pukekohe this evening. DFB 7010 made its first appearance in Auckland since emerging from Hutt late last year after an overhaul and repaint from MAXX to KiwiRail livery

DC 4254 and DC 4571 were hastily allocated to the Northern Explorer (nicknamed "Dora" after a children's TV show character) after the failure of DFB 7158 two days prior, however the locomotives were required to return to Auckland and so ran train 200 the following day as well. Here, we see that train 200 at Buckland and Takanini, as well as the empty service L200 at Remuera

Shunt services around the Waikato collect wagons from Fonterra facilities at Waitoa, Morrinsville and Hautapu. DC 4692 is seen on these services along the ECMT and Waitoa Branch (formerly the Thames Branch), with trains 334 and 325 added for good measure

DXB 5114 leads train 200, the northbound Northern Explorer, into Britomart Transport Centre for the last time. The Northern Explorer will stop at Strand station from 21 December 2015. DXB 5114 and train 200 became the final locomotive and final diesel-powered train to enter Britomart, with the station now exclusively serving the AM class EMUs. "Dora" was moved to the Strand station as Auckland Transport needed the capacity during CRL works and could not afford the train to take a platform for 40 minutes

DC 4951, DCP 4663, DC 4467 and DC 4104 on the head of train 120 through Newmarket, in elephant style. All except DC 4467 are ex-MAXX locomotives, which are now frequently used on North Auckland Line services

Ex-MAXX DC 4104 and DC 4594 climb the grade to Remuera with train 125, with DBR 1226 and DC 4254 passing the other way with the port shunt shortly afterwards

Heading down from Auckland to Tauranga along the ECMT, trains MP5, MP6, 483, 334, 390 and 325 are captured at various places along the ECMT and NIMT. DSC 2678 was along for the ride on 334 from Mt Maunganui to Tauranga

DC 4254, back in freight service, pairs with with DBR 1267 with the port shunt arriving at Westfield, followed by train 228S arriving and MP15 departing. MP15 was running on the opposing main due to track works further south

DC 4594, DCP 4663 and DC 4951 on train 120 between Kumeu and Kaukapakapa. DC 4951 has been modified for freight service and had its MAXX logos removed, while DCP 4663 is trail only while it awaits the same treatment

ADL 801 + ADL 805 and ADL 807 + ADL 810 on extra shuttle runs to Pukekohe for the V8 events near the station. The former pair was on an extra run, with the latter pair on a regular service with extra capacity

Glenbrook Vintage Railway opened their 2015/2016 season with the celebration of the 100th birthday of Ww 644, operating all throughout the long weekend and with a market planned on Monday. A lucky child placed a coal cake in the firebox of Ww 644 before it departed on the next trip. At the end of the day, the train moved some wagons further up the mainline connection to make room for more wagons to arrive from DBM
